Links and Resources Adele was born in Tottenham, north London,
England on May 5, 1988. She began singing at the
age of four, and has cited her love for the
music of the Spice Girls as a major influence in
her musical style. As she grew older, Adele was
drawn to the music of artists such as she became
interested in R&B artists such as Aaliyah,
Destiny's Child, Pink, and Mary J. Blige. In late June of 2012, Adele announced to the
world that she was pregnant. Adele and her
boyfriend, Simon Konecki, had been dating for
about six months when she announced the news of
her first pregnancy. Konecki is the co-founder
of British charity Drop4Drop, which has as its
goal to bring fresh water to poorer parts of the
world. Konecki is a graduate of the upper-class
English prep school Eton. Besides his
relationship with Adele, Konecki has ties to the
world of music through his charitable partner
and co-founder of Drop4Drop, Jamie White, who is
the stepson of Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie
Wood. Adele and her
