Jade Winehouse (September 1983-July 23,
2011) was an English singer-songwriter known for
her powerful deep, contralto vocals and her
eclectic mix of musical genres including
R&B, soul and jazz. She was also well-known
for her excessive lifestyle and her bouts with
substance abuse. She died July 23, 2011 at the
age of 27. Prior to her death, Amy Winehouse released
two studio albums: Frank, in 2003, and
Back to Black, in 2006. After her death,
a posthoumous album was released called
Lioness: Hidden Treasures. Amy
