Rod Stewart and
Ronnie Wood in The
Faces The
Faces- British rock music band (founded 1969
and disbanded 1975). The Faces
were a fairly popular British rock band whose
members are actually more famous for their
post-Faces careers. Formed in 1969 as a blend of
members from two other successful rock bands,
the Small Faces (Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, and
Ian McLagan) and the Jeff Beck Group (Rod
Stewart and Ron
Wood) .
The Faces
released four studio albums and one live album,
along with five compilation albums. Video

London, 1971 In some senses,
The Faces were a rock "Super-Group," or a band
made up of already well-known rockers. But after
their breakup, the individual Faces actually
attained greater fame, and a greater audience as
they joined other groups or embarked on solo
careers. Both Ron Wood and Ian McLagan went to
work for the Rolling Stones, with Wood
eventually becoming a member of the Stones.
Kenny Jones joined the Who as a replacement for
drummer Keith Moon, who died tragically. Rod
Stewart, of course, went on to solo stardom and,
with the possible exception of his friend, Ron
Wood, is the best known of the former
Faces. Rod Steward,

The
Faces and the Small Faces were inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, 2012.
While Rod Stewart was unable to attend due to
health concerns, The Faces did perform with Mick
Huxnall of Simply Red standing in for vocals.
