Rahm Emanuel - (b. November 29, 1959 )

Rahm Israel Emanuel (b. Nov. 29, 1959) is an American politician who served Illinois' 5th Congressional District in the U. S. House of Representatives since 2003. Emanuel served as the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the 2006 elections, in which the Democrats regained control of the House. Following the 2006 elections, Emanuel became the 4th-ranked Democrat in the House as the Chairman of the Democratic Caucus. On November 6, 2008 Emanuel accepted an offer from President-elect Barack Obama to become the White House Chief of Staff in Obama's administration, which begins on January 20, 2009.

Emanuel is seen as a strong leader with powerful political fundraising abilities.
