Richad Dawson

Richard Dawson (November 20, 1932 – June 2, 2012) was an English-born American actor, comedian, game show panelist and host in America. Dawson was best known for his role as British Army Corporal Peter Newkirk on the television sitcom, Hogan's Heroes (1965-1971), and as the original host of the Family Feud television game show from 1976–1985 and then again from 1994-1995. Richard Dawson was also a regular panelist on the 1970s version of Match Game on CBS from 1973 to 1978.

Born as Colin Lionel Emm, to an American father and an English mother, Dawson's early entertainment career began as a comic, using the stage name of "Dickie Dawson." He later legally changed his name to Richard Dawson. He married the volumptous British sex-symbol and actress Diana Dors in 1971, and the couple moved to Los Angeles.

 Richard Dawson died from complications of esophageal cancer on June 2, 2012 in Los Angeles at the age of 79.
