On November 8, 2016, Donald Trump won election to become the 45th President of the United States. This timeline of the Trump Presidency will list significant events over his time in office, beginning with the transition period betweent the election and his inauguration on January 20, 2017.

 

 

Nov. 8, 2016-Donald Trump wins the 2016 election, winning 290 Electoral Votes to Clinton's 228

Nov. 9, 2016-In the early morning hours of Nov. 9, Trump gives his election victory speech

Nov. 9, 2016-The first of many anti-Trump protests begins

Nov. 10, 2016-Trump meets with President Obama in the White House

Trump meets with President Obama in the White House

Nov. 11, 2016-It was announced that Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence will take over chairmanship of the Trump Transition Planning Committee from Chris Christie, who will remain as the Vice-Chair. The other members of the 16-member advisory committee include four women and 12 men:

Six Vice-Chairs: Governor Chris Christie, Dr. Ben Carson, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, retired General Michael Flynn, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator Jeff Sessions
