Sportshistory:

Football

Football is one of America's favorite team sports, with the first football game played on November 6, 1869, when Rutgers played against Princeton. The game is played at all levels, from the middle school and high school level, to the very competitive and profitable college football to the professional leagues (NFL and Arena football). The culminating event in all football is the annual NFL Championship game, known since 1966 as the Superbowl.
