Kardashian News--Get the Latest News on the Kardashians

Robert George Kardashian (February 22, 1944–September 30, 2003) was an American lawyer best known as friend and lawyer to O.J. Simpson and as the father of celebrity Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian was born into a prosperous Armenian-American family in Los Angeles, Calfornia. Kardashian earned a law degree from the University of San Diego and practiced law and then entered business. When he represented O.J. Simpon in the famous 1995 trial, it was the first time he had served in a court in 20 years.

Robert Kardashian and O.J. Simpson became friends in the early 1970s. The two of them lived together in the 1970s and started Juice Inc., a corporation with which they owned and operated several frozen yogurt shops.

Kardashian sat by Simpson throughout the trial.

In the days following the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman, O.J. Simpson stayed the Kardashian home. The public's first glimpse of Robert Kardashian was when he carried Simpson's garment bag the day Simpson returned to Los Angeles from Chicago. Prosecutors speculated that garment bag may have contained Simpson's bloody clothes and/or the murder weapon, but that was never proven.

When Simpson failed to turn himself in at 11 a.m. on June 17, 1994, Kardashian read a letter by Simpson to the news media. The letter was interpreted by many as a suicide note.

Robert Kardashian is the father of reality stars Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, and Robert Kardashian, Jr., with his former wife Kris Jenner.

Kardashian died of esophageal cancer on September 30, 2003 at the age of 59.
