The World War Two section of the History Guy website examines the Second World War, its causes, consequences, and the details of the war itself. We will cover the military battles and campaigns, the personalities involved in the war, as well as those people associated with the events leading up to the this conflict which created a world at war. The issue of the Holocaust will be examined, as well as the ways in which World War Two shaped the rest of the Twentieth Century.

BEGAN: July 7, 1937--The first battle in the Japanese invasion of China took place in Battle of Lugou Bridge (Marco Polo Bridge Incident)

ENDED: September 2, 1945-The signing of the Japanese surrender documents onboard the battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay .

European Theater:

BEGAN: September 1, 1939--The German invasion of Poland.

ENDED: May 7, 1945--The surrender of Germany to the Allies.
